Parents,
This year, we will not be having our traditional vocabulary parade at Halloween. Instead, CES is having a trunk or treat for our students on Friday, October 30th. Like everything so far this year, this event and our Halloween/Fall parties, which will be the same day, are closed to parents and visitors. We understand that some communities are not having trick or treating this year, and we want to make sure that all our kids have a chance to participate. On that day, students are allowed to wear school-appropriate costumes. Following are some other informational items about this day:
- Some classes are still tying the costumes to vocabulary words. You will get more information about your child's class participation from his or her teacher
- Snacks can be sent for parties, but they must be store bought and individually packaged. Nothing packaged as a group, like a dozen cupcakes, will be allowed in. Individually wrapped snack cakes are an example of an alternative.
- The school is accepting candy donations for the trunk or treat event. Large bags of individually wrapped Halloween candy that do not include small hard candy are preferred. These can be dropped off at the CES office or sent with your student.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the office.
Thank you and Happy Halloween!
