Schools will be closed Friday, January 24th
After further consultation with local officials, District Leadership Team, and after our Maintenance Staff diligently reviewed our buildings, the learning environment is not conducive for our students and staff to return tomorrow. Hazardous, icy road conditions will still be an issue for buses and many sidewalks will continue to be iced over. Several Maintenance staff walked campuses today and observed some HVAC units not working properly. They will monitor schools this weekend to ensure we are ready to learn on Monday. While we acknowledge that temperatures are expected to rise and some snow/ice will melt tomorrow, we remain concerned about areas with bridges and certain roads. Temperatures are expected to freeze again sometime after dark which will recreate hazardous conditions.
The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority!
Extracurricular activities are cancelled through Friday evening. The Board Meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 4:00pm.
Please stay safe and warm. See you Monday morning!!!
